Exploring the Hoysala Legacy

Join us on an exciting trail of the Hoysala Temples with author and urban conservationist, Kamalika Bose.
The Hoysalas ruled most of present-day Karnataka and parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu between the 11th and 14th centuries CE. Prolific builders, Hoysala architecture stands out on two counts - it is marked by rich, intricately carved sculptures and the use of dark-hued soapstone that proved ideal, to work on.
Tracing the origin, legacy and stories of the Hoysala rulers, we travel to their breathtaking temples, across Belur, Halebidu, and Somanathapura.
