Treasures of the Amrapali Museum

India has a long tradition of making fine silver objects - be it jewellery or symbolic pieces used for ceremonies and worship. The Amrapali museum in Jaipur that houses some exquisite silver pieces from across India has brought out a book: The Adornment of Gods, showcasing some of their outstanding pieces. What makes this book a stand out are the selection of objects and the commentary on the idea behind it, by author and mythologist Devdutt Patannaik.

In this LHI special, Devdutt is joined by the curator of the Amrapali Jewels Museum in Jaipur, Pramod Kumar KG as they take us through a selection of pieces with fascinating stories. These objects capture the essence of this collection - of the Adornment of the Gods .
